============================

There are three subdirectories:

   * Sounds\ - the clips used by the sound tracer

   * Speaker\ - FreeTTS applications (see readme.txt in that directory for details)

   * Tests\ - two WAV files containing part of the sound output
                    from tracing BusyProg.java and TestStack.java
                  - they can be deleted if you don't want them

The sound tracer application consists of 11 Java files:

   * SoundTrace.java, StreamRedirecter.java, SoundEventsMonitor.java,
     MethodWords.java, MethodWord.java,
     AppNotes.java, FileNotes.java,
     SoundGen.java,
     ClipsPlayer.java, NotesPlayer.java, Speaker.java,

There are 2 test applications for the tracer:

  * BusyProg.java
  * TestStack.java and Stack.java
       - see Tests\ for WAV files containing part of the sound output
         from tracing BusyProg.java and TestStack.java

There are 2 batch files:

  * compile.bat
  * runTrace.bat
     - they assume that:
          * tools.jar is in c:\Program Files\Java\jdk1.6.0_10\lib\
          * FreeTTS is in d:\freetts-1.2\
          * MBrola software and voices are in d:\freetts-1.2\mbrola

----------------------------
Other Tools Required:

   * FreeTTS (http://freetts.sourceforge.net/)
   * MBROLA software and voices (http://tcts.fpms.ac.be/synthesis/mbrola.html)

      - see the readme.txt in Speaker\ for details on what to install

----------------------------
Compilation:

  > compile *.java

The compilation of the test applications can use javac if you like:

  > javac BusyProg.java

  > javac TestStack.java    and   > javac Stack.java

----------------------------
Execution of SoundTrace:

  > runTrace <java-file-to-be-traced>

e.g.
  > runTrace BusyProg

  > runTrace TestStack
      - FreeTTS and the US MBrola voices must be installed

Note: you can also run the test applications directly (but they're
not that interesting):

  > java BusyProg

  > java TestStack
